The UNMC Animal Welfare Group is a group of concerned students and staff from the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus who are caring for the stray animals at UNMC and in the surrounding student accommodation area of Taman Tasik Semenyih.

We believe that the best method of managing a stray animal population in a developing country like Malaysia, is the research-proven best practice of ‘TNR’ – trap-neuter-release. We have decided to focus on spaying the female dogs in the area first, as this will have the most immediate effect on reproductive rates in the territory we are working in.

Please see our TOR on working with the UNMC management on cases of injured animals on campus for further information on this issue (.pdf): UNMCAnimalWelfareTOR
